6 Automotive POS Systems Compared
There are many options for an automotive POS system (automotive “point of sale” software) to help you run your auto parts business. Some POS systems branch out into managing inventory, customer records or managing multiple retail locations. Automotive POS systems usually come with an overwhelming list of features to integrate with credit card payment gateways, barcode scanners, printers, Android tables or iPads, cash drawers and other devices.
We thought we’d take a quick look at this important category of auto parts software. Here we compare some of the top POS (point of sale) systems available in the automotive aftermarket. We’re publishing this article because our article on auto parts eCommerce platforms is so popular.
Automotive POS system from Magestore
Magestore offers an open source automotive point of sale software solution and it’s web-based. Magestore’s automotive Open Source POS software is free to download and use. It requires Magento version 2.4 or greater. Magestore has options with a paid version for code customization and payment methods. If you use Magento for an online store this lets you expand your current Magento eCommerce site to your physical brick & mortar stores. They also have other options with the paid version, including modules to help you manage your warehouse or your store’s enterprise resource planning (ERP).
Magestore: Streamlined order management
Like with many automotive POS systems, you no longer need to use Excel files to create and store order information. You can edit product info and customer orders with Magestore’s automotive Open Source POS software. Sales records are easy to check out directly on the POS screen. You can track or manage orders of various parts faster and easier.
Magstore: POS code customization
You have the choice to customize this free version of their auto parts POS software yourself, or you can use Magestore’s execution and customization services.

Square is a popular form of payment in retail stores. It’s also worth mentioning that Magestore POS accepts every order paid by debit card, credit card, or cash. If your auto parts retail store participates in car shows, cruise-ins, or has a remote location at the local race track, you can accept payment through Square.
